Best buy is doomed
I have seen this way too many times.
First, Good Guys. They had a good retail practice. I remember buying my first Auto Focus digital camera and a (not so high-end) home theater system from them. The store used to exhibit energy.. And then they went belly up.Then, there were Circuit City, CompUSA... These were essentially victims of eCommerce. CompUSA tried to integrate online and offline shopping experience. While it is no Apple store, it is still a place where I wanted to go from time to time. Even after getting Amazon prime membership, I remember being a patron to their stores. Too bad they are dead!The last one standing is Best Buy. They used to be known for quality products and service. "used to be" is the keyword. Over the past 2 years, I see both of those areas are deteriorating quite significantly. My guess is they go belly up or at least attempt to go for some kind of online pivot model very soon. Let me get started on the eulogy!
